A Reflection of 2018

The end of the year has come and gone; it is time to reflect and look back on 2018.  And what a great year it was. We had a lot of fun spotting a variety of cars and trucks around Los Angeles.  We are thankful that Los Angeles provides us with warm weather and sunshine for most of the year, thus preserving beautiful vintage, mid-modern and current vehicles from the grips of rust. The near constant sunshine means that people actually DRIVE these cars year round, a blessing not found in many other cities or states. Los Angeles provides for us sunshine and awesome cars, and I want to pass that on to everyone reading.  That’s what this site is all about; finding cool street cars and sharing them with the world. We especially want to thank you, the reader and viewers of LACS. We do this for you.

The 2019 year should shake out to be a big one for LA car spotting.  We plan to expand the web content to include videos and more editorial content.

Also, don’t forget to write 2019 on all your checks and other docs you sign 😉

Here’s a look back at our favorite spotting’s in 2018:

1985 Ford Bronco II

What do we have here? A 1985 Ford Bronco II.

Back to normal car spotting you say? You bet – finishing out the year strong.

This Bronco II is sporting a “custom” grille and what looks to be Ford Explorer rims, although I can’t be certain.

I’ll have a video out of this car before the end of the year. It will be a trial run of what I want to do for 2019. Enjoy.

1971 Ford Mustang Coupe

Here we are, back at it with a new month of car spotting here at LACS.  It’s December; the Christmas decorations are out and people are out shopping en masse. Meanwhile, I’m over here taking pictures of a 1971 Ford Mustang Coupe parked on a side street.  This one appears to be a 6-cylinder model and is in awesome condition. Enjoy the pics.

And check out other Mustangs we’ve spotted:

1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1

1968 Ford Mustang Coupe

1976 Chevrolet Corvette (C3)

Take a look at this flat black 1976 Corvette C3 that I spotted.  This vette looks to still have the original rims installed and is sporting a custom chrome side exhaust, that really pops against the subdued flat black paint. Enjoy.

And check out other Corvette’s we’ve spotted:

1975 Chevy Corvette

1973 Chevy Corvette Stingray (C3)

2012 Chevy Corvette ZR-1

1995 Isuzu Trooper

Good morning or evening or whatever time it is for you. Here we have a 1995 Isuzu Trooper – basically an SUV that everybody re-branded.  Take your pick: Acura, Chevrolet, Isuzu, Holden, Opel, Subaru, Vauxhall.  Yea yea, I know… most of them are GM products. But hey,  here is the 2nd Generation, US Market Isuzu Trooper. Enjoy

And check out this 1986 Isuzu Trooper II (1st Gen) we spotted a couple months ago.

October ’18 – End of Month Hodgepodge

Happy end of October! Another month has concluded and with it, the LACS hodgepodge makes it’s appearance.  Yet again, this one is light because of the wedding.

This month, we only posted 2 car spottings.  One was a 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo cloaked in black and sporting excellent chrome wheels; a perfect match. We also saw a 1970 Cadillac DeVille – man are those big cars.

Enjoy this and look forward to even more next month!

1970 Cadillac DeVille

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your holiday, whether you get to relax with friends and family or if you have to work.

Spotted this beautiful Cadillac Sedan parked near Venice, CA.  I believe it is the DeVille model but it might also be the Fleetwood.  Let me know – how can one tell the difference?  It may lack the finish and polish of a restored version, but this Caddy still has flair and I love the body lines. Enjoy

Check out some other Cadillac’s we’ve spotted:

1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham

1967 Cadillac Sedan De Ville

1977 Cadillac DeVille Sedan

August – End of Month Hodgepodge

As is usual for the end of the month, we post pictures of the vehicles that did not make the cut for a full feature.  To be honest, there were not many this month but none-the-less, let the hodgepodge commence.

1982 Jeep CJ-7

Here, presented for you on wonderful dead-end street near the Los Angeles “River”, is a 1982 (maybe) Jeep CJ-7.  This is one of the last CJ style Jeep generations made, and a personal favorite of mine.  The CJ-7 still had the gusto and utilitarian looks of the CJ series with some “modern” touches.  It was also still powered by the AMC line of engines. Enjoy

And some other Jeep’s we’ve spotted:

1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Classic Postal Jeep DJ-6

Happy Independence Day

Hello and happy Independence Day – The day American’s celebrate the pillaging of land from…. I mean, a day American’s celebrate their independence from Great Britain.  We commence celebrations with cookouts, booze, bonding with friends and family, and massive amounts of fireworks. Here at LACS, we will celebrate with a throwback to some of our favorite classic American made cars we’ve spotted.

1961 Buick Electra 255 2-door

Wow. What a beautiful car.  This Buick Electra is a somewhat rare two door version that is owe so gorgeous.  The 255 denotes the inline 6 engine mounted under the bonnet. Enjoy these pics.

And enjoy some other old school Buick’s we’ve spotted:

1970 Buick Skylark Coupe

1971 Buick Skylark Hardtop Coupe
