1995 Bentley Continental R

Hello all. Take a gander at this posh example of luxury and power from the mid 1990’s.  Did you know that the Bentley Continental R such as this model is the first Bentley to feature a body not shared with a Rolls-Royce model since the S3 Continental of 1965.

This Bentley houses a 6.75 L turbocharged V8 under the hood, with an estimated 360hp and 500 lb-ft of torque! But this model was more than just a horsepower sled, it was about fine wood grain, fancy leather and opulence. Imagine what kind of power a 6.75L turbocharged V8 could produce with today’s engine technology.  Enjoy the pics!

1965 Pontiac Bonneville

With more than 50 years under it’s belt, this full sized Pontiac could use some love.  I am sure this is a handful to drive around in Los Angeles, considering it’s rather large stature.  Just look at the overhand behind the rear wheels! How many bodies do you think you could fit in the trunk?

And check out some other classic Pontiacs we’ve spotted

1987 BMW 635 CSi (E24)

We’re sticking with the German theme from the spotting 2 days ago with this 1987 BMW 635 CSi Coupe.  The 6 series coupe is still around today and seems to share a lot of the same characteristics as it’s earlier brethren: large engine, big body coupe with luxury and style to boot! This one is in great condition and has those fantastic gold basket weave OEM rims. Enjoy.

Another BMW we spotted recently:  1972 BMW Bavaria (E3)

Some info about the late 80’s BMW 6 series:

The BMW E24 is the first generation of BMW 6 Series grand tourer coupes and was produced from 1976 to 1988. It replaced the E9 coupes and was replaced, after a 16-year hiatus, in 2004 by the E63 6 Series. Aside from the M635csi/M6 models, the E24 was powered by a range of M30 straight-6 engines.
The E24 M635csi (called the M6 in the United States and Japan) is considered the start of the M6 model line. In most markets, the M635csi is powered by the M88 straight-6. In the United States and Japan, the M6 is powered by the less powerful S38straight-6 engine.

1990 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG

I absolutely love this car – big coupe, black on black, widebody AMG.  It looks like something that an evil villain would drive.  This is a pretty rare car from MB and I’m glad I spotted one around Los Angeles. I’m also happy to say that I’ve seen the owner driving this car around – and as we all know here at LACS – cars are meant to be driven!

Some info I scooped from carscoops.com (go check their site out):

This original 560 SEC 6.0 AMG Wide Body is arguably one of the most desirable high-performance AMGs ever created. Not only because it’s believed that fewer than 50 units were built, but also due to the company’s expertise, which transformed the big Benz into a unique creation.
The car is powered by a bore-out 6.0-Litre V8, designed and built at Affalterbach, which uses an AMG custom quad-cam head with four valves per cylinder, producing twice the torque at half the engine speed of the original 5.6-litre Mercedes-Benz engine. The total outpout is 385 hp and it is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic gearbox.
Moreover, the tuner’s signature continues on the outside that’s oh-so-80s, as the car was fitted with distinctive front and rear fenders and door panels that allowed much wider wheels to be fitted.
