Memorial Day | Photo Barrage

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!! Dust off the grille and polish up your cooking skills because the sun is out and so are the good times.  Today we have a special treat and a guest photographer to help celebrate Memorial Day with us. Ritchie Hann, a good friend of LACS, has a selection of photos from a recent Cars & Coffee trip that he has donated.

So go out there and have a great Holiday weekend with friends and family. Go to a car show if you have the chance and in the meantime, enjoy a few beautiful classic and modern cars courtesy of RH and LACS. Cheers!  ♦ ♦♦♦ ♦

1970 Cadillac DeVille

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your holiday, whether you get to relax with friends and family or if you have to work.

Spotted this beautiful Cadillac Sedan parked near Venice, CA.  I believe it is the DeVille model but it might also be the Fleetwood.  Let me know – how can one tell the difference?  It may lack the finish and polish of a restored version, but this Caddy still has flair and I love the body lines. Enjoy

1972 Chevrolet C10 pickup (CK Chassis)

Spotted another Chevy draped in blue on the same block as the 1969 Chevy Impala the other day.  By the looks of it, this Chevy C10 Pickup has been recently repainted and restored.  Even the chrome was in great shape! Almost look as if it came off the showroom floor.  And it has some of my favorite period wheels; the moonie style wheels! Enjoy

1971 Mercedes Benz 280s (W108)

I spotted another old school W108 Mercedes Benz.  This one is the 280s version from roughly 1971, so it is likely less equipped than the 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SEL (W108)  we spotted last week. Interestingly enough, this one also appears in white and has similar wheels – however this one is in less than great condition and sports some rust in spots. Enjoy

Check out some other Mercedes Benz models we spotted:

1964 Volvo PV544

Would you look here; we spotted an old school or “vintage” as the kids call it, Volvo PV544.  This Volvo from the mid 1960’s seems stuck in time, retaining automotive styling I think resembles that of the 1940’s.  This Volvo is clad in faded red and looks to be very much original. Enjoy

1980 Porsche 924 Turbo

Spotted this very clean Porsche 924 Turbo at the grocery store parking lot the other day.  The 924 is a really cool example of VAG stretching it’s legs outside of the 911 market.  There were roughly 15,000 of these made worldwide and given the less than stellar reliability of these cars, I’m sure more than a few have found their way to the pick-n-pull yards.  It was dark out and I only had my phone with me so the pics are not great!

1966 Ford F-100 Long Bed Custom Cab

Spotted a 1966 Ford F100 on a walk the other day.  Painted in a partial two tone pale yellow/white combo, this F100 Custom Cab deserves a second glance.  It does not look ready to hit a showroom floor. What it does look like it’s ready to do, is drive around town and haul a lot of stuff in it’s long bed.  Enjoy and of course…

1981 Fiat 2000 Spider

Spotted a Fiat 2000 Spider on a rainy LA day.  Granted, if you live in LA, you’re saying to yourself – “it hasn’t rained in about 2 months here”.  You are right. I found these photos while digging around my files and thought the Fiat 2000 deserved a spot in LACS history. This one appears to be in fair condition and is equipped with an automatic transmission. Enjoy and check out some other Fiat’s we’ve spotted:

1984 Toyota Celica Supra

I’ve been stumbling upon some pretty cool vehicles recently, and this Celica Supra from the mid-1980’s does not disappoint.  You may be asking yourself, “Don’t confuse me, is it a Celica or is it a Supra?!” Well the Celica and Supra were one in the same when introduced in 1979.  The “Supra” was an offshoot of the Celica lineup, boasting increased performance and unique styling that differentiated it from the standard Celica.  Fun fact: The Toyota Supra had an inline six-cylinder engine installed since it was introduced in 1979 – Nice!

And check out previous old-school Toyota’s we’ve spotted, like yesterdays 1981 Toyota Corolla Coupe (TE72):
