“Looks like a Chrysler” my friend said when I showed him this picture of a 1987 Renault Alliance. I said to him, “yea, it does kind of look like a K platform car”. We’re not totally wrong in thinking this. The Alliance was manufactured and marketed in North America by American Motors Corporation (AMC) – the same company that was contributing to Jeeps development in the 1970’s and 1980’s. AMC has a long and interesting history that started out in the 1950’s – they produced their own vehicles but always had their hands in partnerships and developments during their existence. During a decade of their existence, from the late 1970’s to the late 1980’s, Renault and AMC were intertwined. In a strange string of events, shareholder ownership of AMC was changing hands from Renault to Chrysler at the same time that this 1987 Renault Alliance was hitting the market. Coincidence!>?!>!?!?
Anyway, enjoy some pics of this sweet 1987 Renault Alliance Convertible and don’t forget to check out some other Renault and AMC car’s we’ve spotted:
1978 Renault LeCar
1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
Take a look at this beautiful Hardtop 280SL spotted in Burbank, CA. This Mercedes-Benz is a cherry and looks mostly original – which is always a plus at LACS. Enjoy.
And check out some other 2-door Mercedes we we’ve spotted.
1970 Mercedes 280 SE Coupe
1999 Mercedes Benz SL500 (R129)
1990 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG
Today we are showcasing a beautiful 1980 Porsche 911 SC wrapped in a what can only be described as a Gold Velour. The cactus and concrete make for a great background as well. This Porsche is in fantastic condition and appears to be mostly original – worth quite a lot on the open market. This would be a “bring-a-trailer” high bidding car for sure!
Don’t forget to check our previous 911’s we spotted (Or scroll to the bottom of the page and search for ‘Porsche’ or’911′):
1978 Porsche 911 SC
1984 Porsche 911 Carrera
1968 Porsche 911T
Another month has come and gone and I am sure that countless cars have been spotted in the street! Unfortunately, most of the spotting has not been done by me. Take a peak at some random cars that have been LA car spotted.
February is a new month and I just grabbed a new lens for the “spotting” camera – fun times ahead!
Hello and happy Sunday! Today we have a 1965 Ford Thunderbird spotted on my way to work this past week. We caught a sunny day for the pictures – it has been a bit overcast this winter.
These past few months have involved numerous hours being allocated to my “real job” – and it’s been hectic and time consuming. Now that the project has simmered, the real fun can begin. I’ll be back in action this year with new cars and car spotting. That is unless my money-making-job wants to suck up some more time than it’s rightfully granted. Enjoy
Hello and happy Monday. If you have the blues because the weekend has come and gone, than check out this awesome Ford Ranchero I have for you! It has a beautiful cream color with the red and black paint down the side. Woooooo weeee – take a gander at this and tell those Monday blues to hit the road! Enjoy
And check out some other Ford Ranchero’s we’ve spotted:
1963 Ford Ranchero
Midget MG and Ford Ranchero
1969 Ford Ranchero Spotted
Early 60’s Ford Ranchero
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!! Dust off the grille and polish up your cooking skills because the sun is out and so are the good times. Today we have a special treat and a guest photographer to help celebrate Memorial Day with us. Ritchie Hann, a good friend of LACS, has a selection of photos from a recent Cars & Coffee trip.
So go out there and have a great Holiday weekend with friends and family – go to a car show if you have the chance. In the meantime, enjoy a few beautiful classic and modern cars courtesy of Ritchie and LACS. Cheers! ♦ ♦♦♦ ♦
Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your holiday, whether you get to relax with friends and family or if you have to work.
Spotted this beautiful Cadillac Sedan parked near Venice, CA. I believe it is the DeVille model but it might also be the Fleetwood. Let me know – how can one tell the difference? It may lack the finish and polish of a restored version, but this Caddy still has flair and I love the body lines. Enjoy
Check out some other Cadillac’s we’ve spotted:
1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham
1967 Cadillac Sedan De Ville
1977 Cadillac DeVille Sedan
Spotted another Chevy draped in blue on the same block as the 1969 Chevy Impala the other day. By the looks of it, this Chevy C10 Pickup has been recently repainted and restored. Even the chrome was in great shape! Almost look as if it came off the showroom floor. And it has some of my favorite period wheels; the moonie style wheels! Enjoy
And don’t forget to check out other Chevy Pickups we’ve spotted:
1960 Chevy C-10 Fleetside Pickup
1958 Chevy Apache Pickup Truck
1967 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup Truck
I spotted another old school W108 Mercedes Benz. This one is the 280s version from roughly 1971, so it is likely less equipped than the 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SEL (W108) we spotted last week. Interestingly enough, this one also appears in white and has similar wheels – however this one is in less than great condition and sports some rust in spots. Enjoy
Check out some other Mercedes Benz models we spotted:
1999 Mercedes Benz SL500 (R129)
1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D Sedan
1974 Mercedes-Benz 280C (W114)
Would you look here; we spotted an old school or “vintage” as the kids call it, Volvo PV544. This Volvo from the mid 1960’s seems stuck in time, retaining automotive styling I think resembles that of the 1940’s. This Volvo is clad in faded red and looks to be very much original. Enjoy
And check out some other Volvo’s we’ve spotted:
1973 Volvo 1800ES Wagon
1988 Volvo 740 Turbo Estate Wagon
