Here we have what appears to be an early 1960’s Volvo P122s Sedan or the “Volvo Amazon” as other countries outside the United States received it. I can’t pinpoint the exact model year or trim level since I was across a busy street when I took this. This Volvo is not the cleanest example around, but hey – it’s older than most people I know and looks better than they do at 50+ years 😉 In all seriousness, I’m glad that somebody is driving this Volvo around. As we know, cars are meant to be a driven and I can applaud people that keeps a car running for so long.
On a side note, I think it is only a matter of time before electric drive-trains become commonplace as engine swaps for classic vehicles. Sacrilege or fantastic? You decide.

You guessed it – the end of the month and it’s time for a hodgepodge of vehicles that didn’t quite make the cut for a full post. This hodgepodge has some old school flair, an early 90’s Alfa Romeo Spider and a pink Lincoln! Enjoy the pics.
Hello everyone and apologies for the hiatus. Spotted this flat black 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo just yesterday around Hollywood. I think the Monte Carlo is an underrated American classic that has great styling and poise. This one benefits from upgraded rims and tires, sporting appropriate white sidewall lettering. Enjoy

1965 Chevy Chevelle SS (Malibu)
1973 Chevy Corvette Stingray (C3)
Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your holiday, whether you get to relax with friends and family or if you have to work.
Spotted this beautiful Cadillac Sedan parked near Venice, CA. I believe it is the DeVille model but it might also be the Fleetwood. Let me know – how can one tell the difference? It may lack the finish and polish of a restored version, but this Caddy still has flair and I love the body lines. Enjoy
Check out some other Cadillac’s we’ve spotted:
1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham
1967 Cadillac Sedan De Ville
1977 Cadillac DeVille Sedan
I spotted another old school W108 Mercedes Benz. This one is the 280s version from roughly 1971, so it is likely less equipped than the 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SEL (W108) we spotted last week. Interestingly enough, this one also appears in white and has similar wheels – however this one is in less than great condition and sports some rust in spots. Enjoy
Check out some other Mercedes Benz models we spotted:
1999 Mercedes Benz SL500 (R129)
1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D Sedan
1974 Mercedes-Benz 280C (W114)
The 1973 Buick Electra sedan. I could hardly recognize this as an Electra when I compare it to the 1961 Buick Electra 255 we spotted before. The generation from 1961 has a much more elegant, sophisticated look to it. This 1973 version is bulbous, and unsightly. In all fairness, this particular example is not in very nice shape and I must say even so, the lines on the car are refreshingly simple and proportional. Enjoy
And check out some other classic Buick’s we’ve spotted:
1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Coupe (3rd Gen)
1971 Buick Skylark Hardtop Coupe
Here we have a revered and somewhat rare Volvo 1800ES Wagon. The 1800 line from Volvo was built from 1961 to 1973. The Wagon version, was only made for two years, from 1972 to 1973, which is why the wagon is a bit more of a rarity.
I did not have the opportunity to get some pictures of the rear or full car pictures, as the Volvo was obscured by street things. Instead, I took artistic liberty to bring you some close ups and odd shots. Enjoy.
Check out some other Volvo’s we’ve spotted:
1x Volvo P1800 & 2x Alfa Romeo’s
1988 Volvo 740 Turbo Estate Wagon
Spotted this very clean and classy 1970’s Mercedes parked on the street the other day. I wish I could have taken some pictures of the front of this Benz, however it was parked behind another vehicle we spotted on this site (HONDA CVCC). Less than 20,000 of these 280SEL units were produced worldwide. The car had the longer wheelbase of the W109, but lacked the pneumatic suspension and other features of the 300SEL.
Check out some other sweet, older style Mercedes-Benz sedans:
1971 Mercedes 280SE Sedan (W108)
1978 Mercedes-Benz 240D Diesel Sedan
1992 Mercedes-Benz E500

Hello and happy Independence Day – The day American’s celebrate the pillaging of land from…. I mean, a day American’s celebrate their independence from Great Britain. We commence celebrations with cookouts, booze, bonding with friends and family, and massive amounts of fireworks. Here at LACS, we will celebrate with a throwback to some of our favorite classic American made cars we’ve spotted.
First generation Chevrolet Monte Carlo – the first Monte Carlo we’ve spotted. Instead of whimsical banter about cars, check out these links for other forms of the name and term “Monte Carlo”.

Check out this 1963 Ford Falcon Coupe spotted in Silverlake. I am a big fan of the Falcon model, especially the first generation such as this one. Did you know: The Falcon line was one of Ford’s first mass-produced vehicle that was a unibody design instead of a body on frame? Most interesting.
Check out other Falcon’s and Falcon variants we have spotted:
