Spotted a 1965 Mercury Monterey Coupe in a fabulous faded yellow the other day (when Los Angeles was not locked down). I have always been a fan of big old coupes – look that the size of that trunk!! Now that I’ve been coupe’d up in our house for the past 2+ weeks, I can’t wait to get out and go to a car show. Spring is typically the start of the car show season around the nation, so I know many of you will feel the same. Enjoy these car spotting photos to hold you over!
And check out some other Mercury cars we’ve spotted before:
1963 Mercury Meteor Custom
1971 Mercury Cougar Convertible
Take a look at this beautiful Hardtop 280SL spotted in Burbank, CA. This Mercedes-Benz is a cherry and looks mostly original – which is always a plus at LACS. Enjoy.
And check out some other 2-door Mercedes we we’ve spotted.
1970 Mercedes 280 SE Coupe
1999 Mercedes Benz SL500 (R129)
1990 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG
Another month has come and gone and I am sure that countless cars have been spotted in the street! Unfortunately, most of the spotting has not been done by me. Take a peak at some random cars that have been LA car spotted.
February is a new month and I just grabbed a new lens for the “spotting” camera – fun times ahead!
Welcome to a slightly delayed End of Month Hodgepodge for May 2019. June should be a good month for car spotting, as most of the classic and more rare cars have come out from hibernation. I have a few pictures I took yesterday, and you are in for a treat in the coming month. Stay tuned!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!! Dust off the grille and polish up your cooking skills because the sun is out and so are the good times. Today we have a special treat and a guest photographer to help celebrate Memorial Day with us. Ritchie Hann, a good friend of LACS, has a selection of photos from a recent Cars & Coffee trip.
So go out there and have a great Holiday weekend with friends and family – go to a car show if you have the chance. In the meantime, enjoy a few beautiful classic and modern cars courtesy of Ritchie and LACS. Cheers! ♦ ♦♦♦ ♦
It’s the end of the third month of 2019 and that means it’s hodgepodge time. Pull out your cast iron cauldron and ladle, because we’re throwing you a mix-mash of different cars. Enjoy.
Spotted another classic American machine meandering the streets of LA. As with many of the old cars we spot, this one looks like it’s seen it’s fair share of activity. The Duster shared the Valiant platform (and thus the Dodge Dart) and also rocked the same front end sheet metal as the Plymouth Valiant, but featured a different design from the cowl back.
The Duster, as with a lot of the American made cars in this time period, had yearly tweaks to it’s design and function. More information about these can be found on the Wikipedia site.
Also, check out some other Plymouth vehicles we’ve spotted:
1963 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200
1964 Plymouth Valiant
1970 Plymouth Valiant Sedan
Spotted a Mercedes 230 sedan parked down the street from the Volvo 122s we spotted in our last post. Our testament of keeping old vehicles road worthy still stands, so this Mercedes-Benz has captured a special place in our hearts. Enjoy.
And check out some other Classic Mercedes vehicles we have spotted:
1971 Mercedes Benz 280s (W108)
1983 Mercedes-Benz 300TD Wagon (W123)
1978 Mercedes-Benz 240D Diesel Sedan
You guessed it – the end of the month and it’s time for a hodgepodge of vehicles that didn’t quite make the cut for a full post. This hodgepodge has some old school flair, an early 90’s Alfa Romeo Spider and a pink Lincoln! Enjoy the pics.
Happy end of October! Another month has concluded and with it, the LACS hodgepodge makes it’s appearance. Yet again, this one is light because of the wedding.
This month, we only posted 2 car spottings. One was a 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo cloaked in black and sporting excellent chrome wheels; a perfect match. We also saw a 1970 Cadillac DeVille – man are those big cars.
Enjoy this and look forward to even more next month!
For this month’s hodgepodge, I’ll post pictures from a recent charity car show I attended. I brought out the Canon T3i and a prime 50mm lens with me. In doing so, I was not able to capture a lot of full car pictures. Instead, I focused my attention on the details.
Enjoy a 50mm Crop-frame sensor perspective of some classic cars.
